Roger Williams University (RWU) is a leading independent, coeducational liberal arts university ranked among the top 10 comprehensive colleges in the northern United States by U.S. News and World Report. Academic Opportunities: RWU offers 40 majors, and 10 percent of students study two majors simultaneously (double major). The University recognizes the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program as a program that is academically and intellectually rigorous. Students accepted to Roger Williams University who have received an IB Diploma from a regionally accredited secondary school are eligible to receive a maximum of 30 credits, the equivalent of one year of studies, in transfer credit on a course-by-course basis.
Top Academic Majors Offered: Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Architecture and Pre-Medicine / Pre-Law
Scholarships: International students are also eligible to receive any of a number of merit-based scholarships offered by the University. RWU offers several Presidential Excellence Scholarships (US $16,000 per year) as well as a number of Achievement Scholarships (from US $10,000 to $13,000 per year) annually. These scholarships are based on superior academic performance and are renewable for the length of the student's studies.
Living on Campus: Our residence halls offer a variety of living arrangements from singles and traditional residence hall rooms to suites and apartments. Your freshman year, you will probably find yourself in Cedar, Maple or Willow Hall -– our traditional residences comprised primarily of freshmen (first-year students) with a few sophomores (second-year students) in the mix. Residence halls for upperclassmen consist mostly of suites and apartment-style options, many of which are complete with kitchen facilities, a lounge area with pool tables, a coffeehouse, convenience store and seminar rooms.
