JCCC's Intensive English Program is an affordable, quality English program located at one of the top community or two-year colleges in the Midwestern United States. Since 1997, the IEP has served English language learners who want to improve and strengthen their English proficiency and cultural understanding for academic, career-enhancing, or personal reasons.

Many students choose the IEP because they have heard about the program's advantages from friends and family who have studied in the program and have achieved tremendous results. A few advantages:

  • 15-week courses are available from August to December, or from January to May each year
  • Limited number of students in each class
  • Diverse students from more than 20 countries on six continents
  • Qualified, advanced-level students may be admitted to JCCC without a TOEFL score
  • Efficient, effective, integrated, focused and challenging program
  • Outstanding instructors with master's degrees in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and years of teaching experience

Location: Near Kansas City, Missouri: Johnson County is located on the eastern edge of the state of Kansas, minutes from the neighboring state of Missouri. Because of its position at the geographical center of the 48 contiguous states in the USA, the region is well-known as The Heart of America. Its history is based on the momentous westward movement of thousands of people into relatively unchartered territory, beginning in earnest in the 1830s and 1840s. The phenomenon doubled the United States' geographical size, and expanded the young nation's global perspective to include the Pacific Rim nations.

Kansas City is famous for having more boulevards and avenues in the world than any city except Paris, and more fountains than any other city except Rome.

The city of Overland Park has about 170,000 residents, making it the second most populous city in Kansas.
