The Intensive English Program
at Georgia State University

Georgia State University's Intensive English Program offers English courses from high beginning to advanced proficiency levels, within an academic curriculum. The IEP is an English for Academic Purposes program: Course content, activities and assignments are designed to prepare you as quickly as possible for the language demands of U.S. university and college work. At the beginning and low-intermediate levels, you will focus on primary language skills. If you're placed at the intermediate to advanced levels, you will read, discuss and write about topics such as psychology, anthropology and general science. The IEP is a serious language program. You are expected to attend class, do homework and take tests, just as you will be expected to do in a university.

You may take undergraduate courses at Georgia State University when you finish the advanced level at the IEP if you are academically qualified, without further language proficiency testing (e.g. TOEFL).
