Fairfield University is a Catholic, Jesuit university, rooted in one of the world's oldest intellectual and spiritual traditions. We are located in the heart of a region where the future takes shape -- on a stunning campus on the Connecticut coast, an hour from New York City.
We believe that living and learning aren't two separate activities. They're parts of a coherent whole. Everything you do at Fairfield is critical to your personal, academic and spiritual growth -- course work and research, internships and community service, campus leadership and study abroad.
The University welcomes those of all beliefs and traditions who share its concerns for scholarship, justice, truth and freedom, and it values the diversity which their membership brings to the university community.
Fairfield is committed to broad intellectual inquiry, and so offers a comprehensive core curriculum. The University also pursues social justice and global citizenship; they offer an astounding range of opportunities for service and civic engagement. Fairfield faculty and staff ask the hard questions, listen closely, and care enough about the world to study it, work in it, make it better.
Graduates of Fairfield build vital, meaningful lives. They think critically and independently, they know how to lead and how to work together. They've done enough important work in the world to know why their work -- and their world -- matters.

International Scholarships and Financial Aid
Any first-year student who applies for admission is automatically considered for a Magis Scholarship. No separate application is required. The Magis Scholarship is an annual award of US$20,000 renewable for four years, providing the student maintains a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) Grade Point Average. Students will also participate in special activities for recipients of the scholarship.
Although a limited amount of need-based financial assistance is available for international citizens, all applicants must also submit verification of financial resources to cover the costs of attendance. An I-20 (application for a student visa) will be mailed only after the student has been admitted, paid a confirmation deposit, and provided evidence (financial affidavit) of the ability to finance his or her education.
