The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is consistently ranked nationally for its programs in primary care, family medicine, and rural medicine. Our College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and is a member of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). It was recently named a Top Business School for 2010 by the Princeton Review. The only accredited art program in North Carolina, our School of Art and Design is the largest art school in North Carolina and one of the largest in the Southeast. East Carolina's School of Music and School of Theatre and Dance are home to internationally acclaimed touring groups, a summer theatre series, dance performances, musical theatre productions, recitals, opera theatre, and guest artists. Nationally known artists and performers are members of our faculty.

Enjoy a vibrant fine and performing arts scene by attending any of the hundreds of plays, exhibitions, concerts, and other gatherings and a number of cultural events, including International Education Week events.
You will find top-quality housing, dining, and recreation. You can live in one of the 15 residence halls and eat at a variety of restaurants and cafes. You can enjoy sports and physical activity in one of the biggest and best-equipped student recreation centers of its kind on the East Coast. And if you are a student, you're a member. You will find a diverse student population including international students from almost 50 countries. International students are assisted in the transition from their home countries to the campus. An orientation program offers information about campus services, social events, and immigration. Students may also participate in cross-cultural programs to help with the transition to the United States, joining more than 200 international students who study and conduct research on campus. The university assists our international students throughout their time here to help ensure they have a rewarding and complete educational experience. Location: The main campus of East Carolina University is located on 520 acres in a residential area of Greenville, North Carolina, and features more than 4.7 million square feet of academic, research, and residential space. ECU also is home to the 205-acre Health Sciences Campus (which includes the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University) and the 650-acre West Research Campus, as well as three academic libraries.
Greenville is a growing city of about 80,000 that is a business, cultural, educational, and medical hub in eastern North Carolina. From ECU, it is less than a two-hour drive to both the state capital of Raleigh to the west and Atlantic Coast beaches to the east. Greenville is about 265 miles south of our nation's capital, Washington, D.C.
Greenville is the county seat of Pitt County, which has a relatively mild climate and experiences all four seasons each year. The average summer temperature is 84 degrees Fahrenheit while the average winter temperature is 44 degrees Fahrenheit.
