- Six levels, from Beginning to Advanced
- 18 class hours per week are required: 3 hours each morning of Speaking / Listening and Reading / Writing, plus one 3-hour afternoon Special Topic chosen from academic, language skills, business, cultural, or test preparation (TOEFL, TOEIC) topics
- Optional free elective classes including grammar, pronunciation, and conversation
- Advanced level students may combine English study with part-time university coursework after one term

Global Business English Program
- Designed to meet the needs of prospective MBA and pre-MBA students as well as business professionals
- Participants must have either a university degree, an undergraduate business major, or 2 years work experience, and place into ELC level 4 or above in both Speaking / Listening and Reading / Writing
- Classes include the Language of Business Information, an integrated skills course covering key business concepts and vocabulary; an advanced level Reading / Writing course focusing on essay writing, academic reading skills, and strategies for academic coursework; a Special Topic class; and optional free Electives.
- Special features include networking opportunities, lectures at the College of Business, MBA application workshops, and an MBA class observation
- A conditional admission program that provides qualified undergraduate students with a foundation year of quality academic and English language courses.
- Applicants must meet Drexel University academic requirements.
- Secondary school graduates with TOEFL scores of at least 460 pbt, 53 iBT, or IELTS 4.5 can apply for admission.
- Applications will be evaluated on an ongoing basis; students will be admitted for 6 – 12 month programs depending on their qualifications.
- Students prepare for degree programs in over 70 majors including bioscience, communications, computer science, engineering, business, and more.
- Full-time undergraduate students can participate in Drexel Co-op, the ultimate internship™.

Housing, Activities and Features
The ELC can arrange housing at World House Dormitory, located on the Drexel campus, just two blocks from the ELC. The official ELC dorm offers single, double and triple rooms on a first-come, first-served basis. World House has a lounge with TV, VCR / DVD, stereo, and computers with internet access; shared kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry facilities.
Other housing options include nearby International House of Philadelphia, University City Axis, and Right at Home Homestays.
Activities and Features
American Cultural Connections™: A unique program designed to encourage and facilitate contact between ELC and American university students through a wide range of activities. These include weekend trips to Washington D.C. and New York City, theater and museum outings in Philadelphia, intramural sports activities, as well as many other activities and events on the Drexel campus and throughout Philadelphia.
Conversation Network: ELC students can meet and exchange conversation with American students at Drexel University.
Allison Rose Fellowships: Scholarships of $1,200 are awarded each term continuing full-time students who help with orientation for new students, lead the activities program, and perform office work at the ELC.
Free access to Drexel University facilities: ELC students can use the Drexel library, gym and athletic facilities, language lab, computer lab and wireless internet service at no charge.
