- 18 class hours per week are required: 15 hours of Speaking / Listening and Reading / Writing courses in the morning or afternoon, plus one 3-hour afternoon Special Topic chosen from academic, language skills, business, cultural, or test preparation (TOEFL /IELTS) topics.

Global Business English Program
- Designed to meet the needs of prospective MBA and pre-MBA students as well as business professionals
- For participants with a university degree who place into ELC Level 4 Listening / Speaking and Reading / Writing (or higher)
- 21 hours of classes per week, including:
- The Language of Business Information, a modular integrated skills course that focuses on concepts and key vocabulary related to specific topics such as marketing, finance, international business, and human resources
- Reading / Writing classes that emphasize essay writing, advanced academic reading, research skills, and strategies for graduate level coursework
- Two Special Topic courses such as TOEFL / GMAT preparation or other advanced level topics
- Special features include networking opportunities, lectures at the College of Business, MBA application workshops, and an MBA class observation
- A conditional admission program that provides qualified undergraduate students with a foundation year of quality academic and English language courses
- Applicants must meet Drexel University academic requirements
- Secondary school graduates with TOEFL scores of at least 460 pbt, 53 iBT, or IELTS 5.0 can apply for admission
- The program begins in the Fall Term, and prepares students to begin full-time undergraduate study the following Fall. Most students complete the program in three terms (nine months)
- Students prepare for degree programs in over 70 majors including bioscience, communications, computer science, engineering, business, and more
- Full-time undergraduate students can participate in Drexel Co-op, the ultimate internship™

Housing, Activities and Features
Housing: Because different students prefer different lifestyles, several types of housing are available.
- Drexel Residence Halls: On-campus accommodations in double rooms or suites are available on a limited basis.
- Right at Home Homestay: Students live in an American home where they can practice English and learn about American culture.
- The Axis: A luxury student residence with a reasonable price, just minutes from campus. Meal plans available.
- International House: A large dormitory-style residence providing private bedrooms with shared bath and kitchen facilities, near the Drexel campus.
Activities and Features
American Cultural Connections™: A unique program designed to encourage and facilitate contact between ELC and American university students through a wide range of activities.
Weekly Activities: Trips to Washington D.C. and New York City, theater and museum outings in Philadelphia, intramural sports activities, as well as many other activities and events on the Drexel campus and throughout Philadelphia.
Conversation Network: ELC students can meet and exchange conversation with American students at Drexel University.
Allison Rose Fellowships: Scholarships of $1,200 are awarded each term continuing full-time students who help with orientation for new students, lead the activities program, and perform office work at the ELC.
Free access to Drexel University facilities: ELC students can use the Drexel library, gym and athletic facilities, language lab, computer lab and wireless internet service at no charge.
